この夏の電力需給は全国的に改善されるものの、東京エリアでは電力の余力を示す予備率が安定供給に最低限必要な3％と厳しい見通しになりました。

東京エリアの予備率は7月が「3％」、8月は「3.9％」と安定供給に必要な3％をギリギリ上回る状態です。　
The reserve ratio in the Tokyo area was 3% in July and 3.9% in August, just barely above the 3% required for a stable supply.
経産省は、「電力需給はこの夏も厳しい」として、電力会社に対し、休止している火力発電所の再稼働などを求めていく方針を示しました。　
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has indicated that it would ask electric power companies to restart idled thermal power plants because "the supply and demand of electric power will remain severe this summer”.
一方、東京以外のエリアでは予備率が8％を超えていることから、政府関係者は東京エリアだけを対象に節電を要請することも含めて検討しています。
On the other hand, with reserve ratios exceeding 8% in areas outside of Tokyo, government officials are considering including a request for power conservation only in the Tokyo area.
