富山市では正月飾りに使われるセンリョウの競りが行われました。
In Toyama city, auction of Senryo used to decorate in the New Year was held.
センリョウはその名前から縁起物とされ、正月飾りによく使われます。
Senryo is a lucky charm because of its name, and is often used for New Year decorations.
富山市では年に1度、この時期に行われる競りが午前7時から始まりました。
The auction is held once a year in Toyama City at this time and started from 7am.
緑の葉に赤い実を付けたセンリョウは次々と競り落とされていきます。
Senryo branches with red berries on green leaves are being auctioned one after another.
高いものは1本500円の値が付きました。
The expensive one costed 500 yen per branch.
今年のセンリョウは色付きなどが良く、去年よりも全体的に1割ほど高く競り落とされたということです。
This year's Senryo has a nice color, it is said that it was outbid about 10% higher than last year.
