大手自動車メーカーなどが共同で参画する車載半導体の研究開発に経済産業省が10億円を補助することを発表しました。
「高性能で低消費電力、かつ信頼性の高い先端半導体の活用が進み、自動車の知能化・電動化の実現につながることを強く期待をしています」
今回国が支援するのは、トヨタや日産、ホンダなど自動車メーカーや半導体関連企業などが先端半導体の開発を目的に設立された技術研究組織、「ASRA」です。
半導体を巡っては、今後電気自動車や燃料電池車などで需要がさらに拡大すると見られていますが、業種の壁を超えて連携したASRAが自動車に特化した半導体を設計し、2030年以降の量産を目指すとしています。
29日に開いた会見で、ASRAの山本理事長は、「日本の半導体業界の底上げにも貢献していきたい」と話しました。
