南米ペルーを訪問している佳子さまがペルー政府が主催する式典で、移住した日本人とその子孫の日系人についてお言葉を述べられました。
Princess Kako, who is visiting Peru in South America, spoke at a ceremony organized by the Peruvian government about Japanese immigrants and their Japanese descendants.
「幾多の困難や悲しみを乗り越え、誠実に勤勉にお互い助け合いながら日々過ごしてこられたことを、これからもしっかりと心にとどめてまいります」
"I will continue to remember that they overcame countless difficulties and sorrows, and spent their days faithfully and diligently helping each other."
佳子さまはリマ市内にあるペルー外務省の本館で行われた日本とペルーの外交関係樹立150周年の式典に出席され、お言葉を述べられました。　
Princess Kako attended the ceremony commemorating the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Peru, held at the main building of the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lima, and gave a speech.
佳子さまは「家にペルーの本やアルパカのぬいぐるみがあり、ペルーの音楽を楽しむ機会も多くあり、親しみを感じ、今回の訪問を大変うれしく思います」とも話されました。　
Princess Kako also said: “I have Peruvian books and stuffed alpacas at home, and I have many opportunities to enjoy Peruvian music so I feel familiar with Peru and I am very happy about this visit”.
ペルーからは外務副大臣らが出席し、佳子さまと一緒に記念切手をお披露目しました。
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and others from Peru attended the event and unveiled the commemorative stamp with Princess Kako.
