和敬清寂。

亭主と客、そして客同士、
The host and the guests, and then fellow guests.
茶室の中では身分や地位による隔たりはなく、
Inside the teamroom, there is no distance because of social status or positions.
全ての人が同格です。
All people are equal.
懐石と呼ばれる一汁三菜のもてなし。
This hospitality of a meal before tea, one soup and three side dishes, is called "kaiseki".
盃が亭主、客の間を渡り合うことから、これを千鳥の盃と言います。
From the drinking cup being passed around between the guests, this is known as the "plover cup".
懐石の後、お菓子が出されます。
After kaiseki, desserts are served.

動きの美しさは、心の表われだと言われています。
It is said that the beauty of one's movement is the manifestation of the heart.
いかにして心を磨き、その素直な気持ちが手前に表れるか。
How you polish your heart is how those honest feelings will be expressed.
くつろぎの中に、穏やかに流れていく時間。
During this relaxation, time keeps flowing calmly.
和敬清寂。
Harmony, respect, purity and tranquility.
そして、その心こそ、
And that heart indeed
いつの世も人々が求めて止まない究極の安らぎに通じる道のりでもあるのです。
is also the way leading to ultimate peace that people of all times have not stopped searching for.
