新宿区では年末の恒例となっているクリーン大作戦が今朝行われ、住人ら二千人以上が掃除に汗を流しました。
This morning, the customary annual cleaning operation was held at Shinjuku. More than 2,000 residents sweated it out to do cleaning.
新宿区では街を訪れる大勢の人達に、安心して気持ちよく買い物などを楽しんでもらおうと、定期的に歌舞伎町クリーン作戦などを行っています。
In order to allow the many people visiting the streets of Shinjuku to shop and do other things in peace and comfort, cleaning operations and such are conducted regularly at Kabukicho.
今日の年末クリーン大作戦もそうした活動の一環で、今回で十一回目です。

ゴミの量が大幅に減ってきており、参加者達は綺麗な街新宿を目指し爽やかな汗を流していました。
