彼は森の中の小さな家に住んでいました。
問題は家がラウドランドにあることです。
あー、 うるさい！
こんな風に、 ラウドランドでは、 すべてが騒々しいのです。
大きな音が恐いミスタークワイエットは、
できるだけ家に引きこもっていました。
ある日、 ミスタークワイエットはお肉屋さんに行きました。
そして、
「 すみません、 お肉を買いたいのですが。 」
しかし、 お肉屋さんにはまったく聞こえません。
「 すみませんが、 お肉を下さい。 」
ミスタークワイエットは、 もう一度頑張って言いました。
まあ、 大きな口笛。
うるさくて、 まるで警報ベルのよう。
かわいそうなミスタークワイエット。
これじゃあ、 買い物もできないわね。
またある日の朝、
ミスタークワイエットは爆弾が落ちたような音に起こされました。
ああ、 郵便屋さんがドアをノックしたのね。
「 おはよう！ お手紙ですよ！ 」
郵便屋さんは叫びました。
ミスタークワイエットが手紙を開けると、
それは、 ハッピーランドのミスターハッピーからの招待状でした。
ミスタークワイエットは、 とても喜び、 すぐに出発しました。
ミスターハッピーの家に着いたのは、 夜も遅い時間です。
「 ごめんください。 」
「 何か音が聞こえたような。
ああ、 君がミスタークワイエットですね。
さ、 中に入って。 」
ミスタークワイエットは食事をしながら、
ラウドランドの困った問題について話しました。
「 そんな状況なら、 ハッピーランドで暮らしてはどうですか。 」
これは名案。
「 家も仕事も探しましょう。 」
「 実は、 仕事をするのは、 あんまり得意じゃないんです。
私は静か過ぎるから。 」
「 大丈夫！ 君のような静かな人が気に入る仕事がありますよ。 」
どんな仕事なのかしら。
それはハッピーランドの図書館での仕事です。
図書館では、 みんな静かにするのが当たり前。
あら、 笑ってる。
