Google violates digital regulations; EU notifies interim views; Trump administration opposes

The EU (European Union) has notified its parent company, Alphabet, the American IT giant, with its provisional view that it is illegal, citing Google's search service unfairly favors its related sites.
The European Commission, the EU's executive body, notified Alphabet on the 19th that it is suspected of violating the EU's digital market law to maintain fair competition in the digital sector.
The company's search service, which is a subsidiary of Google, has pointed out that it has prioritized displaying its related sites and prevented consumers from using app stores other than Google Play.
The European Commission asks the Alphabet to respond in writing, and if the situation does not improve and a violation of the law is ultimately determined, it could result in a penalty of up to 10% of annual global sales.
The EU and the US are in tension over tariffs, so if a penalty is imposed, the Trump administration could bounce back
